Dallas County along with the Cities of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Dallas are partnering to improve Wintergreen Road from Main Street and Wintergreen Road intersection to 1300 feet east and Duncanville Road from intersection to 900 feet south in order to enhance mobility within the Cities of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Duncanville. Wintergreen Road and Duncanville Road are critical parts of the Cities Master Thoroughfare Plans.
The Wintergreen Road Project consists of constructing four new lanes of concrete pavement, a new bridge at Stewart Branch Creek, 4 (10-ft X 8-ft) box culverts on Duncanville Road, and storm drainage improvements. A traffic signal will be installed at the Main Street intersection. 1300 linear feet of 96 inch Water Main Transmission will also be installed as part of the project for Dallas Water Utilities. In addition, the project includes wider sidewalks, bike lanes in both directions along Duncanville Road, a trail along west side of Duncanville Road and Windmill Hill Preserve parking improvements. The Project limits are from Main Street and Wintergreen Road intersection to 1300 feet east and from intersection to 900 feet south on Duncanville Road.
Construction begins in August of 2019 and will complete in the summer of 2021. The engineering consultant was Dal-Tech of Dallas, Texas and the general contractor for construction is Texas Standard Construction of Dallas, Texas. The project amount is $10,820,118.
